Garnet turns learning objectives into atomic flashcards and SBA practice sets, optionally anchored by lecture slides. Save your generations, organise them into presets, and launch focused study sessions that build the foundation for performance analytics.
Generate UK-aligned flashcards or SBA sets from a learning objective, with optional lecture-aware pre-processing.
Save material locally, group related generations into presets, and keep your revision sets structured.
Launch focused sessions with one item at a time, answer tracking, exclusions, highlighting, and end-of-session stats.
In this hosted static alpha, your key is stored only in this browser
(localStorage) and sent only to api.anthropic.com during generation.
It never touches a Garnet server because there is no Garnet backend in Phase 1.

Clearing browser site data will also remove this saved key. Profile JSON export does not include API keys.
A medicine study companion. Paste or type a learning objective — optionally attaching the lecture slides as a PDF to anchor scope and emphasis — and generate either a flashcard deck or a set of SBA practice questions with full explanations. Both are pitched at medical student level and aligned to current UK practice. The learning objective always defines what content is generated; the lecture, when attached, refines emphasis within that scope.
Card and question content is generated by Claude under a system prompt that requires alignment with current UK clinical practice — NICE guidelines, BNF, BSG, NHS pathways — and explicit citation of specific guideline references (e.g. NICE NG136, NICE CKS: Asthma) when relevant. The model is instructed to leave the citation field empty rather than fabricate one if uncertain.
Generated material is not a clinical reference. Like any AI-generated content, individual facts can be wrong — particularly drug doses, specific guideline numbers, and threshold values. You are responsible for verifying content against primary sources before relying on it for clinical practice or assessment.
The default generation profile is Comprehensive / Cloze-heavy / Applied, which preserves the original Garnet behaviour. Lean, Exhaustive, Balanced, Basic-forward, Foundation, Exam-style, and Mixed are controlled modifiers layered on top of the same core prompt rather than separate freeform prompts.
Flashcards are fully editable in the review pane before download — tap any field (front, back, notes) to edit it, and use delete to mark a card for exclusion without losing it. The deck exports as a standard .apkg file that opens directly in AnkiDroid, AnkiMobile, or Anki Desktop.
Cloze cards use multiple independent deletions per note, so each clozed term becomes its own review. Bold formatting is preserved across both light and dark Anki themes. Each exported card carries a small footer with its source guideline citation (where the model was confident enough to cite one) and the LO watermark — useful when flashcard decks from different LOs are merged into a larger module flashcard deck.
SBA sets can be exported as a typeset PDF — questions in part one, answers and explanations in part two — for offline review, printing, or annotation.
Everything runs in your browser. Your API key, learning objectives, and any uploaded
lecture PDFs are sent only to api.anthropic.com for the duration of a
request. Generated flashcard decks, SBA sets, presets, study sessions, and local analytics
events are stored only in this browser's localStorage unless you clear them.
Nothing is stored on a Garnet server in this alpha because there is no backend yet.
The hosted version is public, but the data model remains local-first. Before switching browser, changing device, clearing site data, or sending test material for review, export your local profile JSON from the Library tab. Detailed token and estimated-cost rows remain a separate usage CSV export.
Local tier and entitlement controls are simulation tools for testing future pricing behaviour. They are not subscription enforcement and can be reset locally during this phase.
Track study activity, session outcomes, weak areas, and the data foundation for future performance reports.

Saved generations live in this browser only. Select several flashcard decks or SBA sets, then group them into a preset for later review.
Presets can mix flashcard decks and SBA sets. Use “Study” to launch a focused session, or “View” to reopen material for inspection/export.
Logs token usage and estimated API cost for each generation in this browser. Export periodically so test users can send you comparable CSV files.
Mock API mode lets you test generation flow, library saving, exports, CSV behaviour, and failure states without sending a Claude request.
Local tier simulation for pricing tests. Usage is recalculated from this profile's analytics events for the current calendar month.
